What is Reverberation?
This is related to the persistence of sound in an enclosed space as a result of repeated reflections or scattering after the source has been stopped. For example, a slow decay of sound energy due to many reflections leads to a long reverberation time (RT). One’s sense of well-being is affected by the length of the reverberation time. The reverberation time is directly related to the space volume and inversely related to the sound absorption prevailing in the enclosed space. The reverberation requirement is related to the activity such as speech, music, or a recoding planned in an enclosed space. This varies with frequency, because the RT is inversely related to the sound absorption.

Is echo different from reverberation?
Yes. A late reflection heard as a separate sound signal is echo.
